The Alamo Mission in San Antonio, Texas was originally known as Mision San Antonio de Valero when it was first established by Roman Catholic missionaries in the 18^th Century. The Alamo would go on to be remembered for the 1836 Battle of the Alamo that occurred during the Texas Revolution.
